It is appropriate for monitoring joint change over time or assessing efficacy of treatment regimens in children receiving both prophylactic and on-demand therapy.<\/p>\r\n  \r\n  <p><strong>Limitations:<\/strong><br>\r\n   The HJHS takes a long time to administer. It has not yet been adequately studied for use in adults, more severe joint disease, or in very young children.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div id=\"administration\" class=\"popContent\" style=\"display:none\">\r\n  <h3>Administration<\/h3>        \r\n  <ol>\r\n   <li><strong>Time to complete:<\/strong> Approximately 90 minutes, including computing and recording onto score sheet. Less time may be required with increased experience using the tool.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Equipment\/space required:<\/strong>\r\n      <ul>\r\n \t    <li>plinth\/bed<\/li>\r\n \t    <li>room with a sufficient source of lighting<\/li>\r\n \t    <li>goniometer (1<sup>0<\/sup> gradations are recommended)<\/li>\r\n \t    <li>floor with a smooth firm surface<\/li>\r\n \t    <li>space to assess gait (walking, running)<\/li>\r\n \t    <li>set of stairs (nearby)<\/li>\r\n      <\/ul>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n \t<li>\r\n \t  <p><strong>Training required:<\/strong> Instruction manual, worksheets, score sheet, addendums and video are available on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsg.ca\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.ipsg.ca<\/a>. The instruction manual is available in English, French (France), Spanish (Spain), and German (Germany).<\/p>\r\n      <p>Please contact <a title=\"[GMCP] Compose a new mail to info@ipsg.ca\" href=\"mailto:info@ipsg.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">info@ipsg.ca<\/a> if you do not receive an approval email within 48 hours of submitting your registration.<\/p>\r\n      <p>NOTE: It is recommended that you add <a title=\"[GMCP] Compose a new mail to info@ipsg.ca\" href=\"mailto:info@ipsg.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">info@ipsg.ca<\/a> to your safe list.<\/p>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> None<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Scoring\/scaling\/interpretation of results:<\/strong> The HJHS 2.1 provides a total score (higher score is worse; max=124), joint specific scores, and a global gait score.<\/li>\r\n  <\/ol>\r\n<\/div>\t\r\n\r\n<div id=\"psychometrics\" class=\"popContent\" style=\"display:none\">\r\n  <h3>Psychometrics<\/h3>        \r\n  \r\n  <p><strong>Psychometric properties:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n  <ol style=\"margin-bottom:1em\">\r\n    <li>Construct validity: The HJHS 1.0 shows good ability to discriminate between known groups of patients, for example:\r\n      <ul style=\"margin-bottom:1em\">\r\n \t    <li>severe vs. moderate vs. mild hemophilia<\/li>\r\n \t    <li>treated with prophylaxis vs. not treated with prophylaxis<\/li>\r\n      <\/ul>\r\n      <p>It correlates appropriately with bleeding rates (r<sub>s<\/sub>=0.50) and physician global assessment of joint health (r<sub>s<\/sub>=0.42). It correlates well with radiographic changes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <\/li>\r\n <li>Criterion validity: The HJHS 1.0 compares favorably with the <a href=\"https:\/\/elearning.wfh.org\/resource\/wfh-physical-examination-score-aka-gilbert-score\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World Federation of Hemophilia Physical Examination Score<\/a> when discriminating known groups (63% to 97% more efficient).<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Reliability: Test-retest (ICC=0.89) and inter-observer\u00a0(ICC=0.83) reliability are excellent, as is internal reliability (Cronbach\u2019s alpha=0.86).<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Responsiveness\/sensitivity has not been tested longitudinally.<\/li>\r\n  <\/ol>\r\n  \r\n  <p>The validation of the HJHS version 1.0 led to the development of the HJHS 2.0 and 2.1.
